50lb springs and HD rockers… removed mechanical governor and installed ud-2 cdi honda coil hoping to use charging coil and electric start, then I quickly realized the hard way, that the new flywheel requires the removal of the charging coil… I’m still considering a different charging system and left the starter etc on the engine for now. Few thou longer than stock rod so slightly higher compression.
So far, I’ve installed an Arc billet flywheel compatible for electric starter, and billet Bullfrog racing billet 4.450 rod. Hello kartfab! Glad to have found this plethora of karting info! I am new to the kart scene and Just built new Electric start lifan 420cc for my sons drag kart. So what to do? If you run a fuel pump, you MUST run a needle seat that is SMALLER than the stock one.

The air vent now becomes a fuel vent and it looks like the carb is “leaking fuel” but in reality the carb is completely full of fuel, ruining your air fuel ratio, and you are blowing excess fuel out of the air vent that is supposed to help with optimal metering of fuel as well.
The fuel fills the bowl, and at the top of the bowl, you have a vent to atmosphere. The problem is that the pumps pulse pressure pushing the fuel into the bowl via the needle seat overcomes the pressure that the float and needle are applying to the seat. In the instances where you dont get enough (or cant get any) fuel flow, that is where you need a pulsed fuel pump. So you have a gravity fed system (stock carbs) that works great unless you either don’t get enough gravity fuel flow, or you have to mount the gas tank lower than the carb itself. So the float itself can only push up so hard on the needle, and the needle pushes up on the needle seat to keep more gas from flowing into the bowl when the bowl is full. Here is some background to help you understand why its dumping fuel.
But I know that it comes with 90 days warranty so if you’re within that time frame & think you did something wrong you can return it or you can pull a fast one and purchase a new motor and return the old on a week later ”no questions asked”… Worst case scenario if I break it or do something wrong I got the 2 year warranty for $50 from Harbor Freight.
#CT200 STAGE 1 HOP UP KIT MODS#
I am going to change the oil a third time today and will put it on the bike stock only after I ride it for 10-15 hours will I do the mods to the bike to make sure everything is working as it should and worn in right. I then changed the oil and switched to a Mobil one semi synthetic 10-30 which was ran for two hours only revving it slightly since it’s not on the bike and not under any load. I then let it sit over night & ran it the next day for an hour on idle. After I applied gas & oil I turned it over slowly with the kill switch on off. I’ve heard that the machine need to be “broken in”. I used mower oil 10-30 and used Rec Fuel(NON ETHANOL) I’m not mechanically inclined for most of this so I’ve been doing random research.

If this is something you are not comfortable doing, you can always search for a jet and install one like I did in this short video below. Most people use between a #36 and #38 jet in conjunction with the predator 212cc performance parts. If you have the intake and exhaust complete, go ahead and drill out the jet. Making the hole in the jet larger will allow more fuel to enter the combustion chamber, preventing a ‘lean’ condition that overheats and destroys engines when they have the governor removed. Re-Jet With all the air you are putting into the engine, you may also need to drill out the jet a little bigger. You are now able to shove air and fuel quickly into the engine, and release it with little resistance, adding some serious horsepower and torque that you can FEEL when you step on the gas. That’s when the predator 212cc performance high flow exhaust header really comes into play. If you have lots of air coming into the engine, you need to release it with little resistance for added performance.
